WHAT I'M UP TO

I am a UX Designer with a Master's in HCI from Indiana University. I specialize in UI, UX, Interaction, and Motion Design, and I love creating digital experiences that are easy to use, thoughtful, and a little fun too.

HOW I GOT HERE

I’ve always been into manga, sketching, music, and building mecha kits. Manga sparked my love for visual storytelling. Music taught me flow and rhythm, which I carry into motion design. Sketching keeps my ideas creative, while building kits taught me patience and attention to detail, all of which I now bring into my design work.

WHAT DRIVES ME

I started in engineering, but got more and more into design once I saw how tech could be more human. That led me to UX and Interaction design. I’ve worked on projects that focus on real problems like improving food bank systems, and I’ve also taught students how to bring user interfaces to life with motion.

WHAT'S NEXT

I want to make things that are not just useful, but enjoyable. Whether it's a micro-interaction or complete app interface, I try to design in a way that helps people feel more connected and confident using technology.

ABOUT

Avishkar Shinde is a UX Designer who just completed his Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction at Indiana University, Indianapolis.

His excitement for design comes from figuring out how things work, and how to make them better. Reflecting this, his skillset combines a strong product foundation (UX Research, Visual Design, Motion Design, Mobile-Web Interfaces) with exploratory practices (Storyboarding, Interaction Prototyping, Micro-animations, and Information Architecture).

At heart, he’s a builder and a storyteller. He grew up sketching, reading manga, listening to music, and assembling robot kits. These hobbies taught him flow, patience, and attention to detail, qualities that continue to shape how he designs today.

Discover

This is the exploration phase. I start by immersing myself in the user’s world. I start by conducting user interviews, researching context, and gathering insights. And I try to keep it as broad as possible to understand what’s really going on.

Design Process

I like figuring out how things work and how they can work better. This is the process I keep coming back to, whether I’m solving a problem, designing new flows, or adding that last bit of polish.
